Ney Matogrosso sand sculpture 3D Scan

I have created this 3D scan while visiting Sand City FIESA in south Portugal.
This was a great place to visit, full of various sand sculptures created by many artists from around the world. I really enjoyed my time spent there and the scan turned out beautifully!


About Sand City

Sand City is the largest sand city in the world. It hosts the FIESA International Sand Sculpture Festival every year. It is a city built by talented sculptors who have dedicated themselves to rebuilding centuries of history for 15 years. An exclusive place composed of true artistic works and endowed with a unique architectural beauty. The city is magical, more than an exhibition of sculptures, it is a sensorial experience that is worth visiting. The attribution of the status of “sand city” is not only the concept developed, the organization of space, but also the population of sculptures that reside in this city and which amount to hundreds. At the time of the festival Sand City offers a range of activities related to sand sculpting, ateliers, demonstrations on sculpt techniques and video projections.

About Ney Matogrosso

He’s one of the most remarkable and extravagant singers of Brazil, innovator of Brazilian music in 1970s, through his lyrics, daring movements, make-up and autlandish costumes, such as here, adorned with peacock feathers. He’s notable for his singular conuntertenor and high-pitched voice and besides singing he also produces and directs his unique performances. This sculpture is located in “Fiesa International Sand Sculpture Festival” in the Algarve, on E524 road, between Pera and Algoz. It will be available to view through 2016, then, for 2017 all sculptures will be destroyed and rebuild for a new genre.
